Bath County KY DEED: James Leach to James Ragland Jr, 1834 Submitted by: Smith, Elizabeth (ESmith@Montgomery.k12.ky.us) Date: Tuesday, May 5, 1998 Bath Co., KY, Deed Book I, Page 273 This indenture witnesseth that whereas James Leach hath this day executed his promisory note to James Ragland Jr payable 1st of May 1834 for the Sum of $120-- dollars now to Secure the payment of Said note the Said James Leach hath this day morgaged the following property to James Ragland Jr to wit one yok of oxen one spoted mare one Sett of Cabinett tools two Beds & furniture one Cupboard & furniture one table one Sidesadle If the Said James Leach Shall pay Said note when the Same Shall become due the aforesaid property is to remain as the property of Said Leach and in Case the Said Leach Shall fail to pay the aforesaid note at the time it becomes due the aforesaid property hereby morgaged is to be vested absolutly in the Said Ragland as witness my hand this 6th day of febuary 1834 atteste Wm M.
