Week of October 29-November 5, 1998 Witten Copher, age 65, passes away at his residence in Marion Witten H. Copher, age 65 of 1711 S. Adams St. Marion, Indiana passed away Thursday, October 22, 1998 at his residence. He was born March 8, 1933 to the late Virgil Clark and Lula Mae Yarber. He was born in Bath County, he was a Marion resident for over 40 years. He retired from GenCorp in 1996 after 40 years of service. He attended the First Friends Church, Marion. Survivors include his wife, Alice Copher of Marion, Indiana; one son, Clark Copher of Marion, Indiana; one daughter, Alice (Mrs. Todd) Stires of Peoria, Illinois; six brothers, Oscar (Zelma) Copher, Louis (Marshaleen) Copher, Alton (Evelyn) Copher, J.T. (Allie) Copher, Dewesse (Sharon) Copher and Doug (Linda) Copher all of Owingsville; two sisters, Emma Lea (Mrs. Billy Paul) Bailey and Ulala Donahue both of Owingsville; two grandchildren; seven nephews and six nieces. Preceded in death by one daughter, Helen Copher; one sister, Beulah Vance and one brother, Ralph Copher. Funeral services were held Monday, October 26,1998 at Needham-Storey Funeral Service, North Chapel at 1341 N. Baldwin Ave, Marion, In. with Pastor George V. Taylor officiating. Burial was in the Estates of Serenity located at Marion, In. *See correction in next week’s listing. Witten H. Copher’s mother should have been identified as Lula Mae Yarber Copher and his sister’ s name should have been Eulala Donahue.
