He had been ill for several weeks. Billie was reared by the Hughes family, with whom he lived until he was 25 or 30 years old. For many years he worked in Cincinnati, but returned to Owingsville a few years ago to make his home. He is survived by his widow, Alice Coaksey. Funeral services were held at the colored Baptist church Tuesday afternoon, followed by interment in the colored cemetery.
