Date: Sun, 05 Jul 1998 20:46:53 -0500 From: ********************************** From the Lexington, KY, HERALD-LEADER November 23, 1964 Mrs. Betty Cassity SALT LICK--Mrs. Betty Cassity, 89, of Salt Lick, died at 9:20 am Sunday in a Lexington hospital after a long illness. She was a member of the Church of God. She is survived by two daughter, Mrs. Martin Craig, Salt Lick, and Mrs. Orville Wills, Cropsey, Ill; a half-brother, Russell Downs of Middletown, Ohio; a half-sister, Mrs. Bertha McPerson, Crandon, Wis,; nine grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mudlick Church of God by the Rev. Virgil Lyons. Burial will be the Stull Cemetary at Olympia. The body was taken from the Powell and Son Funeral Home to the residence of daughter, Mrs. Martin Craig. Notes: Betty(Elizabeth) Downs Cassity was the daughter of William Downs and Charlotte Highley. She was the wife of John Harvey Cassity. I am one of the 9 grandchildren mentioned in the obit. 8 of us are still living. Marilyn
