The accident took place on the sharp curve almost in front of Mr. Well's home on in a driving rain, accompanying a heavy thunder storm that passed over this section of the county about 5 o'clock Sunday afternoon. There was two other Negro boys in the car with Lane, but neither of them were seriously injured, nor was Mr. Fawns or any of his family accompanying him hurt, although their car was knocked off the road and came very near going over an embankment into Prickly Ash creek. The car driven by the Negro boys was headed toward Sharpsburg and crashed into the Fawns car just on the curve. The dead man sustained a crushed skull and other serious injuries. He died before he could be removed from the car.
