Bath County News-Outlook, 1/17 - 1/24 2002, p.2
  Marvin Elwood Purvis, of Camden, OH, and formerly of Morehead, died Dec. 17, 
2001, at Dayton Heart Hospital.  He was the son of the late Hobert and Mime 
Moody Purvis.  He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War and retired from 
Jefferson Smerifit in Middletown, OH and was a farmer.
  Survivors include his wife, Ruby Wills Purvis of Salt Lick; a son, Marvin 
Purvis of Middletown, OH; five daughters, Judy Purvis of Middletown, OH, Linda 
Dearn of Trenton, OH, Pamela Lawson of Kingswood, TX, Shirley Purvis of 
Gratis, OH and Marlena Purvis of Middletown, OH; nine grandchildren, one great 
grandchild; a brother, Clifford Purvis of Morehead; two sisters, Francis 
Steveson of Virginia Beach, VA, and Eldina Joyce Kerns of Bowling Green.
  Funeral services were held Dec. 20, 2001, at Zimmerman Funeral Home in 
Gratis, OH.  Burial was in Fairmond Cemetery at West Elkton, OH
