Date: 28 Jun 1999 12:00 PM From: B J Hicks thicks1@bellsouth.net ********************************** Old Citizen Dies Near Harpers Last Friday [Bath County News-Outlook Dec 5, 1946] Richard Andrew Riddle 82, retired farmer and well known citizen of Bath County, died at his home near Harpers Friday, November 29. He was a son of the late George and Mary Ferguson Riddle, born July 22, 1864. Besides his wife Mrs. Dozie Bell Craycraft Riddle, he is survived by eight sons George and Clay Riddle, Marion, Ind.; Robert California; Chester, Espie, Ribert J. and Howard, Marion, Ind. and John Riddle of Bath County; five daughters, Mrs. Wilburn Havens and Miss Clara Riddle, Marion, Ind. Mrs. Ollie Riddle, Fleming County; Mrs. Lacy Goodpaster and Mrs. William Hornback of Bath County, and two sisters, Mrs. Isaac Manley of Montgomery County and Mrs. Nannie Kash, Colorado. Funeral services were held at the White Oak Christian Church at 4:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev.George C. Frey. Burial was in the family graveyard.
