Chester Thompson is the son of Frances G. Whaley and Daniel D. Thompson, Frances is the daughter of Benjamin and Jane Rush Whaley, who is the son of John Whaley and Charity Clark. Hardware Merchant dies in Sharpsburg. Chester Thompson, 69, hardward merchant at Sharpsburg for over 30 years, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday at his home there following a short illness. A native of Nicholas County, he was a verteran of World War 1 and a member of the Christian church. Mr Thompson was widely known in this section and was admired and respected. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lula Gaitber Thompson: two daughters, Mrs Quinton Frazier, Cynthiana, and Miss Betty Thompson, Cincinnti: a sister, Miss Winnie Thompson, Carlisle: a brother, B.R. Thompson, Rockford IL, and one grandson. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p. m. (CST) Thursday at the residence in Sharpsburg by the Rev. Richard Davis and the Rev. Burl D. Wagoner.
