She had lived in Bath county almost her entire life. She was born in Rowan county, July 1870 and was first married to Mr. Goodpaster and to this union were born two children, Lzzie Gullett and Allie Goodpaster, both of Illinois. She was later married to Thomas Thompson who passed away six years ago. To this union was born seven children. The passing of Mrs. Thompson removes one of the oldest and most beloved citizens of Olympia. She was well known through out this part of the county and enjoyed the respect and esteem of her neighbors and friends. She was the daughter of ---- Scott. When a young woman Mrs. Thompson united with the Christian church and lived a constant, Christian life. She is survived by five children, two Goodpasters of Illinois, Mrs. Charles Griggs, of Ashland, Mrs. Nannie Morris, of Louisa and Henry Thompson, of this place, two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Fowler of Falmouth, Mrs. Nannie Flannery and one brother Tom Scott, both of Farmers and 21 grandchildren and one great grand child and a host of friends mourn her loss. Funeral services were held here Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the church conducted by Bro. Thommy Crouch after which the remains were laid to rest in the Stull cemetery. So to the heartbroken children and relatives we can say sorrow not as those who have no hope for mother and grand mother has gone to rest.
