The text is as follows: Learning 3-R's at Kendall Springs in 1906 Many of these pupils learning the three R's at the Kendall Springs School about 1906 are easily recognized today. This school group was sent to the News- Outlook by Mrs. Birgal B. Hunt of Owingsville, R#3. In the event that the years have made too many changes they can be identified as: first row, left to right, Albert Ginter, M.T. Second row, Chesney Ginter, Mary Ethel Webster, Emma Carpenter Dennis, Emma Craycraft Copher, Odie Hicks Reid, Jessie GInter, Vertna Ginter Davis, Molly Ginter, Sally Green, Ashby Stull Carpenter, Bessie Stull Wigginton, Millie Ginter Wood, and Alice Stull.
