BATH COUNTY KY WILL AND PROBATE RECORDS: Stancliff/Standcliff Family BATH COUNTY, KENTUCKY WILL BOOK E, page 476-477 This document indicates that James C. Stancliff had died before Feb. 10, 1852, at which time William Moore, John Moore and Jacob Hedrick took an oath before Justice of the Peace, Sam Hart, before they proceeded with an appraisal of the estate of James C. Stanclift Decd. The appraisal was submitted at the January 1, 1853 session of the Court of Bath County, Kentucky. In another part of the document it indicated that the appraisers were appointed on Feb. 10, 1853, but considering the date of the Court session at which the finished appraisal was submitted, the 1853 year must be considered in error. This document also revealed that John L. Richards was Administrator on the Estate. Richards was a next door neighbor to James and was married to James' step daughter, Elizabeth Moore. A number of household items were itemized mostly bed linens, but of equal interest was the lengthy list of those who owed money to James. 1 note on Joseph Ulrey & S. W.
