      William North, who lived at the mouth of Dorton Branch, was one of the 
leading farmers in the county during the early years of the county. He served 
as County Superintendent of Schools and as County Judge of the County. His 
son, Millard North, was elected County Superintendent of Schools and served 
his county with credit to himself and to the people who elected him.
