Court of Appeals sets aside the Judgement of the Lower Court
Hugh Meredith, who was convicted of manslaughter in the Bell Circuit Court a 
few months ago, was granted a new trial by the Court of Appeals Tuesday.
It will be remembered that Meredith killed a man named Saylor at his 
(Meredith's) home near Knuckles. From the reports we had at the time of the 
killing, it looked to be a clear case of self defense.
Meredith has been in jail since his trial, and his attorneys will now ask the 
Court to release him on bond until a second trial is had.
