Charles Davis Editor Thursday May 16 1912 Shot to Death by Deputy Sheriff James and Luther Sizemore, cousins, were shot and killed late Sunday afternoon By Deputy Sheriff David Elliott, of Bell County. The double tragedy occurred in a soft drink resort at Four Mile, KY. The Sizemore's had been drinking and Elliott attempted to arrest Luther Sizemore, who had a pistol. Luther fired on the officer, who retaliated, killing him. James Sizemore then attempted to secure the pistol of the dead man, whereupon Elliott shot him also. Elliott's son was shot in the leg and seriously injured.
