NEWS: Constable Confiscates Beer & Still, 1924, Bell Co. --------------------------- Submitted by Mary Lou Hudson Date: 2 Sep 2003 --------------------------- Middlesboro Daily News, Middlesboro, KY Sept. 2, 1924 Thompson and Men Take Beer and Still One hundred gallons of beer and a complete distilling outfit were confiscated by Constable J.A. Thompson and his deputies Saturday night. The still and outfit were found above the Low Ash Mines. This is another of the series of successful raids that the constable and his men have made for liquor during the past week. On practically every trip they have made recently they have captured a still and beer or mash. No arrests were made Saturday. There being no one near the still when it was located, there was not enough evidence to make an arrest. ************************************************************************* USGENWEB ARCHIVES NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by any other organization or persons.
