FRED ASHER Fred Asher, 63, of East Bernstadt, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2002 at home. He was a son of the late Woodrow and Letta Asher. He was an apprentice optician at Walmart. He retired from the US Air Force after 21 years and had served in the Vietnam Conflict. He was a believer in the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Asher. Survivors include his wife, Donna Smith Asher of East Bernstadt, daughters, Angela Trexler of Galveston, TX, Pamela Gail Collins of Canada and Gwendolyn Jere Kelton of Bay City, TX; step-children, Melissa Crawford of Post Falls, ID, Michael Evans of Lino Lakes, MN, Lori Guyer of Brooklyn Park, MN; Melissa Munson, Blain, MN; brothers and sisters, Dan Asher and Richard Asher, both of Beverly, KY, Robert Asher, Sandy Billingsley, Eva Binder and Peggy Collins all of Fort Wayne, IN; four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Services were at 2:00 PM Saturday at the Beverly United Methodist Church with Rev. Kenneth Felty and Rev. Mike Shannon. Burial was in the Asher Cemetery at Red Bird, KY. Pallbearers were his nephews.
