The Sun-Courier, Friday, July 6, 1990 Harriet S. ASHER, Sycamore St., Pineville died Friday, June 29 at her home following a long illness. She was born in Harlan County, Ky., a daughter of the late George Washington and Joannah HALL SARGENT. She had been a laboratory and X-Ray technician at the Pineville Community Hospital and attended the First Baptist Church, Pineville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. George M. ASHER. Survivors include a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 1 at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Dr. Dudley T. POMEROY. Special music was provided by Annette WALDEN and Dessie WILSON. Burial was in the Pineville Memorial Cemetery. The pallbearers were Bob BIRD, Bob WALDEN, Frankie BIRD, Dr. J.S. GOLDEN, Duncan ASHER, Terry BRADLEY, James H. SPROLES, J.C. HELTON, Boyd KELLY, Walter ASHER, Jr. and Steve YOUNG. All the friends of the Asher family were honorary pallbearers. Donations are suggested to the Clear Creek Baptist Bible College and Pine Mountain Settlement School. Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville, was in charge of arrangements.
