He was born May 18, 1929, in Middlesboro, and was the son of the late Roy and Martha Nash Baker. He was a member of the Graceway Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Hubert and Roy Baker Jr. Survivors Include his loving wife of 58 years, Bonnie Mason Baker, Hutch; one son, Jay Darrell Baker, Middlesboro; three brothers, James (Pearl) Baker, Saint Hellan, Mich., Clyde (Phyllis) Baker, Middlesboro, and Floyd (Pat) Baker, Middlesboro; three sisters, Lorene (Ronnie) Rogers, Middlesboro, Frankie Smith, Warren, Mich., and Clarcie Whitaker, Saginaw, Mich.; sister-in-law, Fannie Baker, Middlesboro; grandsons, Jay Darrell Baker Jr. and Roy Jefferson Baker of Hutch; granddaughter, Jennie Baker Mills of Barbourville, Ky.; two great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Monday at Creech Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Murphy Buell and the Rev. Randy Wilson presding. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Yellow Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Creech Funeral Home, Middlesboro, which is in charge of all arrangements.
