Mr. Brock was born July 10, 1927 in Simms Fork, KY the son of the late Mitchell Brock and Lula Cox Brock. He was a believer in the Pentecostal Faith. He was a coal miner and a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy where he was a veteran 1st Class Seaman. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Jerome Brock, brothers and sisters; Clarence Brock, Zack Brock, Will Brock, George Brock, Nell Davis, Fannie Spurlock, Mary Allen, Rachel Oney, and Lucy Caldwell. At the time of his death he was 77 years old. He is survived by the following members of his family. The mother of his children Annie Brock of Stoney Fork, KY, his children; John Henry Brock of Stoney Fork, KY, Marie Forester of Pineville, KY, Bill Brock of Arjay, KY. Carolyn Forester of Stoney Fork, KY, Bessie Carroll of Nashville, Tenn., Thelma J. Saylor of Stoney Fork, KY and Ronald L. Brock of Jenkins, KY; brothers and sisters, Mary Taylor of Pineville, KY, Sarah Najera of Chicago, IL, Jim Brock of Pineville, KY, Jack Brock of New London, Ohio, Homer Brock of Arjay, KY and Henry Brock of Arjay, KY, Elighu Brock of Stoney Fork, KY. ,16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm Monday at the Creech Durham Funeral Home in Pineville Kentucky with Reverends Kenneth Saylor, Tony Caldwell and Joe Caldwell, Jr. Interment followed the services in the Caldwell Brock Cemetery in Stoney Fork, KY. Pallbearers were grandson Christopher Forester, Fred Baker, Jimmie Helton, Hurley Forester Jr., Ralph Caldwell and Junior Caldwell. Honorary Pallbearers were Fred Carroll, Henry Forester Jr., Hurley Forester and James Saylor. Visitation was from 2-10 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Creech Durham was in charge of arrangements.
