A lifelong resident of Bell County, he was born on August 6, 1932 at Stoney Fork a son of the late James Scott and Elizabeth Caldwell Brock. He was a member of the Trinity Pentecostal Lighthouse, was very active with Bell Masonic Lodge 691 where he was a past master, the Olieka Shrine Temple in Lexington, was a two time Kentucky Colonel and had retired from Cypress Coal Company at their Bailey Hill Mine on Mountain Drive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Lynn Brock; brothers, Millard, Ralph, Robert, and Bruce Brock and sisters, Rachel and Dora Brock. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Martha Brock whom he married on June 4, 1955; daughters, Teresa and Danny Wilder of Pineville, Rhonda and Sam Ridley of Pineville and Stacy and Edwina Brock of Miracle; grandchildren, Marissa Newby, Ian Newby, Tabitha DeBusk, Jordan Jennings, Eric Brock and Autumn Brock; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Reed and Janet Brock, Grover Brock, Colson Brock, Mary Bullins, and Irene Brock all of Pineville, Laura Bingham of Middlesboro, Bertha and Charles Hunter, Cuba and Jesse Phipps and Helen and Bobby Hunter, all of Clear Creek, Gladys and Daniel Jackson of Arjay and Katherine and Bill Cavin of Oakwood, OH and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services were at 11 AM Monday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Lowe. Rev. George Neal and Rev. Hubert Baker. Burial was in the Brock and Burnett Cemetery at East Pineville. Pallbearers were family and friends. The family will receive friends after 5 PM Sunday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville. Masonic Services by Bell Masonic Lodge # 691 were at 7 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home. Arrangements were by the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville. Guestbook at www.arnettsteele.com.
