Mom went home to be with Jesus. She was born in Bell County, KY on May 6, 1935, the daughter of the late Jesse and Hala Rogers Onkst. She was a member of the Victory Missionary Baptist Church where she had been a Sunday School teacher for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by many uncles, aunts, friends and other loved ones. She was the loving mother of one daughter, Dorisene Miles and husband, James of Kettle Island, one son, Ricky Broughton and wife, Channon of St. Creek, three grandchildren, David Paul Sprinkles, Arianna Broughton and Ricky Jacob Broughton all of St. Creek, great-grandson, Scott Alexandar Sprinkles of St. Creek, sister, Phyllis Ballou and husband, Ron of Loveland, OH; brothers, Harold Onkst and wife, Dollie of Pineville and Lee Franklin Onkst and wife, Linda of Convington; special friends, Gladys Jones, Ann Mink and S.B. and Stella Gambrel all of Pineville and a host of friends at the Wilderness Trail Manor, many nieces and nephews and other relatives and her church family at Victory Missionary Baptist Church. Services were at 2:00 PM Sunday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. James Polly, Rev. Travis Wilder and Rev. Danny Robbins. Music was by Theda Polly, Esther York and members of the Victory Baptist Church Choir. Burial was in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro. Pallbearers were David Sprinkles, Scott Ballou, James Onkst, Kris Onkst, Kevin, Bradley, Wilkie Saylor and Travis Wilder. The family will receive friends on Saturday after 6 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville. Guestbook at www.arnettsteele.com.
