She was born in Four MIle on August 6, 1930 the daughter of the late Allie Collins Elam and Tom Brackett. She was a member of the Old Four Mile Pentecostal Church and had been a waitress. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father Ray Elam, brothers and sisters, William Thomas and Warren Brackett, Ruth Hankla, Stella Brackett, China May Simpson, Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn (Smith) and Herbert Champlin; grandchildren, Lynda and Mark Beverly, Mary Goodin, Jack Steven Smith and Daniel Champlin; great-grandsons, Michael Marsee, Nicholas Napier and Richard Beverly and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends. Services were Monday at Old Four Mile Pentecostal Church with Rev. Bill Engle, Jr., Rev. Arthur Jackson and Rev. Gene Taylor. Music was by Linda Hibbitts and Brenda Rogers. Burial was in the Hendrickson Cemetery, Four Mile. Pallbearers were Jack Smith, Daniel Champlin, Michael Marsee, Mark Beverly and members of the Church. Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville, was honored to serve the Brown Family.
