Lucian Clay Hodges, Sr., 82, of Pineville and formerly of Johnson City, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2004 at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born in Pineville on April 29, 1921 the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Mattie Clay Bramblett Hodges. He was a member of the First Christian Church and was a 1940 graduate of Pineville High School. He worked for Delaware Powder Company for 20 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Rita Murray Hodges and son, Lucian Clay Hodges, Jr. Survivors include his daughter, Joyce Evans, daughter-in-law, Debra Hodges, grandchildren, Jon Doff Evans, Jason Scott Evans and Lucian Hodges, III; great grandchildren, Jon Mikel Evans and Hayley Elyse Hodges and brother and sister-in-law, Billie and Ronnie Murray. Services were at 7:30 PM Sunday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. C.H. Dudley. Music was by Ginny Fraley. Burial was in the Pineville Memorial Cemetery, Pineville at 10:00 AM Monday. Arrangements were by Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville.
