THELMA BAKER HUGHES
 
    Thelma Baker Hughes, 71, of Barbourville, formerly of Bell County, passed 
away on Thursday, June 5, 2003 at the Pineville Community Hospital.  She was 
born in Simms Fork, KY on January 11, 1932 a daughter of Richard Baker and 
Debbie Lawson Baker Brock.  She was a member of the Laurel Hill Pentecostal 
Church and had been a homemaker.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughters, Ethel Baker and 
Mable Brock.
    Survivors include her husband, Kenneth S. Hughes of Barbourville, 
children, Debbie and Gary Cornelius and Sheila and Bill Ledford, all of 
Barbourville and Ruby and Vernon Hohn and Karen Craig, all of Davison, MI; 
three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Leon 
Baker of Indianapolis, IN, Virgil Baker and Howard Baker, both of Pineville, 
Lloyd Brock of Mooresville, IN and Virgie Dell of Barbourville and a host of 
nieces, nephews and friends.
    Services were held at 1:00 PM Sunday at the Laurel Hill Pentecostal Church 
with Rev. Leon Baker, Rev. Donnie Messer and Rev. Hubert Baker.  Music 
provided by Stephanie Eldridge and Milton Smith.  Burial followed in the 
Pinelawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Thea. O. Carter and music by David Baker.  
Pallbearers were Nathan Ledford, Jeff Baker, Adam Saylor, Wendell Johnson, 
Dennis Dell and Steve Baker.   Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Steve Morgan and 
the staff of Pineville Community Hospital.
    Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville, was honored to serve the Hughes
