She was born December 10, 1930, at Straight Creek (Bell County), a daughter of the late (Rev.) James Luther and Mary Cathern (Katie) Dean Akers. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pineville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Walter Kilgore II; five brothers, (the Rev.) William N., Ralph Clayton, James Paul, Ray Everett, and Curtis Hoover, Sr. Survivors include her son, William Walter Kilgore III, Pineville; five sisters- in-law, Mary Lucille (Ballard) Akers, Iva Mae (Leach) Akers, Frances Joy (Selvey) Akers, Willa Mae (Gilbert) Akers and June Allen (Crabtree) Akers; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 PM today (Friday) at Creech-Durham Funeral Home, Pineville, with the Rev. Jerry Tracy presiding. Music will be provided by Mickey Wilder. Burial will be at 2:00 PM Saturday (December 1) at Highalnd Cemetery, Sparta, (White County) Tennessee. Visitation is from 6:00- 8:00 PM today (Friday) at Creech-Durham Funeral Home. Creech Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. Additional Comments: Mable was my very special Aunt. Her g.g. grandniece, Ashlyn Brooke, my granddaughter, was born on her birthday, December 10, in 1999.
