J.A.McCord conducting the services. Burial followed in the I.O.O.F.cemetery under direction of Durham Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife,Mrs.Mary Lawson; six sons,George,Lidge and Carlo,of Pineville,Joe of Harlan,and Berry and Andrew,New York,five daughters,Mrs. Joe Asher,Mrs.Bessie Pursiful,Mrs.Fannie Collett,Mrs.Dave Slusher and Mrs.Lerinda Smith; Two brothers,Levi and Carlos,Red Bird,and three sisters,Mrs.Rinda Shiver, Mrs.Mary Jane Saylor and Mrs.Susie Brock,all of Red Bird,and Mrs.Pearl Lawson, Manchester. Mr.Lawson was for many years active in Bell County politics,Pallbearers were, Lester Pursiful,Jim Mills,David Slusher,Dr.George Asher,Willard Grey,Charley Collett and Gillis Cornett. Additional Comments: Samuel Lawson was b. 05 Jun 1867 in Harlan Co.Ky,.d. 21 Oct 1939 in Bell Co.Ky. He was the son of Ransom Lawson and Charity Taylor Lawson. He married Mary Jones.
