She was born November 4, 1929, in Middlesboro, a daughter of Orlando Wilson and Maude Jane Keck Wilson. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Middlesboro and a member of Saint Mary's Episcopal Church of Middlesboro. She was retired from the United Mine Workers of American Labor Union and was a member of the Kentucky Path Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In addition to her parents, Darlis was preceded in death by her husband, James Hobart Lynch; one brother, Norman Wilson, and one sister, Lolita Wilson. Survivors include one son, James Kyle Lynch of Alexandria, Virginia; one sister and brother-in-law, Violet "Bo" Peters and Everett Peters of Harrogate, Tennessee; niece, Linda Peters Holt of Maynardville, Tennessee; nephew and wife, Denny and Sandy Peters of Tazewell, Tennessee; nephew and wife, Allen and Cindy Peters of Tazewell, Tennessee; nephew, Bill Peters of Merritt Island, Florida, and great nieces and nephews, Clay Holt, Kris Holt, Scott Peters, Steve Peters, Kellye Peters Carroll, Kayce Peters, Kory Holt, Kanyon Holt, Andy Holt, Christian Holt, Brandon Holt, Dakota Holt, Nicholas Holt, and Spencer Peters. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Hazel Beidleman of Bristol, Tennessee and brother-in-law and wife Marion and Bobbie Lynch of Harrogate, Tennessee. Her nephews and great nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family plans to receive friends on Friday, January 26, from 5-8 p.m. at Shumate Funeral Home in Middlesboro. A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, January 27 at First Baptist Church of Middlesboro. Burial will follow the service in the Harrogate Cemetery, Harrogate, Tennessee.
