ETHEL CALLEBS SWAFFORD
 
    Ethel Callebs Swafford, 97, of Pineville, passed away on Wednesday, 
November 26, 2003 at Britthaven of Pineville.  She was born in Callebs Creek, 
KY on November 5, 1906 to the late Henry Matt and Elon Pope Callebs.  She was 
a member of the First Baptist Church of Pineville and had been a homemaker.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L.G. 
Swafford, sons, Thomas Franklin Swafford and James Lewis Swafford and several 
brothers and sisters.
    Survivors include her daughters, Avaline Martin Of Chattanogga, TN and 
Anita Jean Bishop of Pineville; grandchildren, Chuck Martin and Marty Martin 
both of Chattanogga, TN, Cathy Beadle of Lebanon, TN, special grandchild and 
caregiver, Linda York and James Glen Swafford of Lexington; a host of nieces 
and nephews; sister Anna D. Hoskins of Middleton, OH and sisters-in-law, 
Mildred Swafford of Pineville and Polly Swafford Whaley of Gatlinburg, TN and 
a host of friends and caregivers at Britthaven.
    Services were Saturday at he Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. 
Charles F. Jones.  Music was by Rhonda White.  Burial was in the Pineville 
Memorial Cemetery, Pineville.  Pallbearers were her grandsons, grandsons-in-
law and great-grandsons.
    Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville, was honored to serve the Swafford 
Family.
