    WATER VALLEY, Ky. - Patricia Violet, 52, passed away Wednesday, 
Feb. 20, 2002, at Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital. 
Arrangements are incomplete. For further information call the

funeral home office at 248-1234. Shumate Funeral Home is in charge. 



Patricia Violet, 52 2/22/2002

    WATER VALLEY, Ky. - Patricia Ann Smith Violet, 52, passed away 
Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at Middlesboro Appalachian Regional 
Hospital. Born Sept. 4, 1949, in Middlesboro, she was the daughter 
of the late Verlin A. Smith and Audrey H. Brown Smith. In addition 
to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew 
Smith. Survivors include her husband, Paul Violet; two sons, Mark 
Hatfield and Raymond Shane Jones; sister, Sandra Kay Smith; special 
nephew, Dewayne Hatfield; four special cousins, Hester, Ophelia, 
Bobbie, Selda Sue Sowders and daughter Crystal Fuson; step-children,
Roger Webb, Harrogate, Tenn., Lisa Taylor, Tazewell, Tenn., and 
Tracie Ayers, Tazewell. Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. 
Saturday at Shumate Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Hurst presiding. 
Music will be provided by Bo May, Stanley Partin and Howard Warwick. 
Burial will be in Duncan Cemetery, Tazewell, Tenn. Visitation is 
from 3-5 p.m. Saturday at Shumate Funeral Home, which is in charge 
of arrangements.
