VAUGHN, HENRIETTA VIRGINIA SULFRIDGE - age 66 of Knoxville, TN, passed away 
August 21, 2004 (Saturday) at St. Mary's Hospital, Knoxville, TN. She was
born October 22, 1937 in Middlesboro, KY, the daughter of Luther and Lucy
(Gibson) Sulfridge. She was a member of The East Cumberland Ave. Baptist 
Church, Middlesboro, KY. Preceded in death by: her parents Luther and Lucy 
(Gibson) Sulfridge; ex-husband, Dan Vaughn; brothers, Dan Gibson Settles and 
Alfred Sulfridge. 
Survivors include: 1 son, Thomas Vaughn, Knoxville, TN; 1 sister, Hazel 
Charlene Sulfridge Mason, Middlesboro; 1 brother, Albert Sulfridge, Lima,
Ohio; 2 sisters-in-law, Bertha Settles, Middlesboro, KY, Clara Sulfridge,
Middlesboro, KY; 3 grandchildren, Julie Rebecca Sanders, Thomas Dewayne Vaughn, 
Kayla Nicole Vaughn; 1 great grandchild, Cameron Ray Johnson; and a host of 
nieces, nephews & cousins. Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the
Creech Funeral Home. Music was provided by her granddaughters. Interment was in 
the Settles Cemetery. Pallbearers were cousins & friends of the family. The 
family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Creech Funeral Home is in 
charge of all arrangements.
