A lifelong resident of Lee County, she was a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late Presley and Sally Shackleford Dean. She was preceded in death by husband Harry C. Yeary in 1998; brothers Melvin, David and Henry Dean; son-in-law Doug Myers; and daughter-in-law Jouette Yeary. She is survived by son H.C. Yeary Jr. of Prestonsburg, Ky.; daughters Brenda Yeary of Ewing, Va., Betty Y. Smith and husband Bob of Ewing, Va., and Wanda Myers of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren Maggie Leah Myers, William Y. Smith, Justin E. Yeary, Trina N. Yeary and Heidi E. Smith; sisters Anna Lowe of Annapolis, Md., and Jewell Busic of East New Market, Md. Services will be at 8 p.m. Sunday in the Arney-Mullins Funeral Home chapel with Rev. James Rigsby. Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Lee Family Cemetery in Rose Hill, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 4700 Rutledge Pike, Knoxville, Tenn. 37914. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Arney-Mullins Funeral Home of Rose Hill, which is in charge of arrangements.
