She was born February 12, 1894 in Bell Co., KY., the daughter of the late John Hoskins and Mary Alice Hoskins. She was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Baker, in 1954. She is survived by: 12 children: Hubert Baker, Carleton, KY,; Frank Baker and Mrs. Betty Gibson, both of Lima Ohio; Charlie Ray Baker, Paintsville, KY,; Mrs. Marie Smith, Solomon Baker, Clyde Baker and Harold Baker, all of Pineville; Mrs. Ethel Phipps, Cridersville, OH; 1 brother, Bill Matt Hoskins, Pineville; 1 sister, Mrs. Sally Henderson, Pineville; 68 grandchildren and 115 great-grandchildren . Funeral services for Mrs. Baker were held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 2, 1985 at the Harmony Baptist Church, Clear Creek, KY., with Reverends Ellis Hoskins, Jabe Smith and Shelby Money officiating. Burial followed in the Smith Cemetery, Clear Creek, KY. Her grandsons served as pallbearers. Durham Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
