He was born July 7, 1933 to the late Floyd Brock in Beverly. He had served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a believer of the Baptist Faith. He worked as a craftsman and was a lifelong resident of Bell County. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Fannie Brock; and five brothers, Ledford Harlan, Lloyd, Edward and Herman. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Saylor Brock, Beverly; three daughters, JoAnn Philpot, Pineville, Carolyn Sue Beverly, Stoney Fork and Penny Elaine Brock, Beverly; four sons: Lloyd Brock, Barbourville, Freddy Brock, Colonial Heights, Virginia, Ronnie Brock and Charles Brock, both of Beverly; two daughters-in-law, Sandy Brock, Barbourville, and Barbara Brock, Colonial Heights, Virginia; two sons-in-law, John Philpot, Pineville, and Larry Beverly, Stoney Fork; four sisters, Ethel Reece, Brownsville, Indiana; Hester Asher and Phronia Saylor, both of Pineville; and Bonnie Young, Mill Creek; four brothers, Ben Brock, East Branch, New York; William Brock and Kitt Brock, both of Beverly and Ben Lawson, Fort Wayne, Indiana; seven grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends who will miss him. Services were at 2 p.m. March 27, 1988 at the Red Bird Methodist Church with Rev. Chuck Jack and Rev.. Colson Knuckles. Burial was in the Brock Cemetery, Beverly. Friends of the family served as pallbearers. Arnett Funeral Home was in charge of services.
