Zack BROCK Rev. “ ZB” Zack Brock, age 102, died Tuesday, December 13, 1988, at the Pineville Community Hospital following a long illness. He was born in Stoney Fork, KY., on November 21, 1886 to the late Hiram and Mary Overton Brock. A lifelong resident of this area he was a retired coal miner and farmer. He had been a Mnister of the Holiness faith and a World War 1 Veteran. He was survived by his wife, Sarah Gross Brock of Pineville, KY. and his six daughters; Rosa Marie Spicer of Kokomo, Ind., Ethel Taylor of Pineville, KY., Cloe Uston of Pineville, KY., Clara Singler of Cincinnitti, OH., Jessie Turner of Daytona, Beach, Fla., Shirley Estes of Flat Lick, Ky., one sister; Stella Saylor of East Pineville, Ky., two brothers; James Brock and Dewey Brock of Pineville, KY., twenty-nine grandchildren, and forty-six great-grand-children, and five great-great-grand-children, also a host of neices, nephews and friends. Services were Thursday, December 15, 1988 at the Straight Creek Pentecostal Church, with Rev. George Neal. Burial was in the Saylor Cemetery at Brock Hollow, Pineville, KY.. Grandsons and son-in-laws served as pallbearers. Arnett Funeral Home of Pineville made all of the arrangements. (The Sun Courier Friday, December 30, 1988)
