He was born March 6, 1931, in Pineville, a son of the late Henry D. Sr. and Elizabeth Selvy Napier. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pineville, and had been a carpenter and builder. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Henry D. Napier III, and a sister-in-law, Mary Napier. Survivors include his daughter-in-law, Mona Napier; grandchildren, Henry Brenan Napier and Brittany Napier; brothers and sisters, Howard (Deanna) Napier, Paul (Wanda) Napier, Donald Ray (Nadine) Napier, Ross (Jerlis) Napier, William B. Napier, Mary Alice (Ray) Lefevers, and Patricia Ann (Richard) Mitsch; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with the Revs. W.B. Bingham, William Boyd Bingham and Charles Jones presiding. Music will be provided by Ginny Fraley and Robert Merrick. Burial will be in Pineville Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his nephews and other family members. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert L. Madon, Walter Cashen, Rev. Marshall Fraley, Bobby Valentine, and Bob Walden. Visitation is after 6 p.m. today at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville, which is in charge of arrangements.
