STRUM FAMILY BIBLE



The following information was taken from the Strum Family Bible. This 
bible was published in 1838 by: Hogan and Thompson, 30 N. 4th St., 
Philadelphia, Penn. 

MARRIAGES 
     Ebenezer G Strum and Rutha his wife was married in the year of our 
Lord one thousand eight hundred thirty eight, March the first. 

BIRTHS 
     Ebenezer G Strum was born March 9th 1812.

     Rutha Strum was born Oct. the 9th 1817.

     Crawford Strum son of Ebenezer G Strum and Rutha Strum his wife was 
born Nov. 25th 1838.

     Jane Tyler Virginia Strum daughter of Ebenezer G Strum and Rutha Strum
his wife was born Mar. 25th, 1840.

     Elizabeth Rebecca Larsen Strum daughter of Ebenezer G Strum and Rutha 
Strum his wife was born Feb. 16th 1842. 

DEATHS 
     Rutha Strum Consant (consort?) of Ebenezer G Strum departed this life 
the 11th of Nov. 1858 at 2 O'clock A.M. after a severe illness of 43 days. 
Her loss will be felt by the family and neighbors. She was beloved by the 
poor, and respected by the rich. Her loss will be felt and deplored by all 
who knew her. For none knew her but to love her. 

     Ebenezer G Strum departed this life Aug. the 19th, 1888 at half after 
two o'clock. 

Inside this bible was a confederate ten dollar bill when my father got the 
Bible, but due to a twist of fate Clarence Nance got this bill. I don't 
know where it is, Clarence is in a rest home at Hopkinsville, Ky. 



NOTE by Nancy Trice: I don't know who wrote the above note or when, nor do 
I know who has the bible at this time. A copy of the bible pages was given 
to me in 1995 by Linda Qualls, a 1st cousin of my husband.  I believe that
Clarence Nance died in 1997.
