HON. REUBEN CONNER, a prominent farmer of Boone County, Ky., was born in Boone County, February 4, 1825, and was the second of a family of seven children born to John and Elizabeth (Anderson) Conner. John Conner was a farmer by occupation. Reuben Conner was reared on a farm, and received a common-school education in Boone County, Ky., and chose farming for an occupation. He now owns 500 acres of fine land in Boone County, Ky., and was elected representative of Boone County in 1879-80, and re-elected in 1885-86. He married Miss Mary Carpenter in 1852, daughter of Jonathan and Pollie (Grubbs) Carpenter, and to this union five children were born, all living: John, Laura J., William W., Meredith and Mary. His wife died in 1876; Mr. Conner then married Miss Jennie Fleming (December 29, 1879), daughter of Thomas and Dinah (Kenady) Fleming, of Butler County, Ohio. Our subject and wife are members of the Presbyterian Church. Politically he is a Democrat.
