Obituary of Marcus Collins (son of Samuel & Elizabeth Cox Collins, of Burlington, Boone Co., KY.) b. 06 Nov. 1857 Boone Co., KY. - d. 15 Jan. 1915 Prescott, Yavapai Co., AZ.

 

Boone County Recorder, dated Thursday, 27 January 1916:

 

Marcus Collins

    The remains of Capt. Marcus Collins, who died at his home in Prescott, Arizona, were 

interred in the family lot in the old cemetery at Burlington last Friday afternoon.  The 

funeral was in charge of undertaker Chas. Donnelly, of Covington, and the remains were 

accompanied by the son (L. M. Collins) and the widow (Elizabeth "Lizzie" Collins) of the 

deceased and several of his relatives and friends.  The only services at the grave consisted 

of the reading of the Odd-Fellows burial service, the deceased having been a member of the 

order for many years.  Mr. Collins was fifty-eight years old and died of nephritis of which 

he had been a long sufferer.
