Chambers of Boone County Kentucky being of feeble health, but of sound mind and memory and wishing to make division of my estate, do by therefore into make and divide my estate according to my own will and in the fear of the Lord write it. It is my will that any debts which are few and small shall be all payed. That there shall be a lawful appraisement of all my estate. It is my Will that my two children Mary and Alfred E. Chambers, shall inherit all my estate of every kind. It is my will that Alfred shall have one half of my estate and his mother and Mary shall have the other half jointly so long as my Wife shall remain my Widow, if she should marry or not accept this provision, but claim her third it shall be layed of Mary's half if she consents to my will Mary shall have her third at her death, all of which is not to exclude Alfred from having one half of my estate. I wish Jo. A. Gaines and E. M. Gaines my Executors and either of them be Guardian for Alfred E. Chambers and to transact his business as my friends and not suffer him to be raised in Town, but take him to their homes if need be and learn him to work and send him to school until he has a first rate education. Written with my own hand this 15 day of July 1857. A. E. Chambers Boone County Court December Term 1857 This writing presenting to be the Last Will and Testament of Alfred E. Chambers deceased was this day presented in court and there being no subscribing witnesses thereto Edwin M. Gaines and M. Hamilton being sworn Certified that the said Written Will the signature thereto is wholly in the hand writing of the deceased and move upon the same is ordered as the Last Will and Testament of said deceased. Wherefore the same is duly recorded. J. G. Hamilton, Clk. A. Chambers Renunciation Will Know all men by their presents that I Amanda Chambers and devisee of Alfred E. Chambers deceased of Boone County Kentucky do hereby renounce and relinquish all and ever after provisions made me by the Last Will and Testament of my deceased husband and do hereby claim my dower and third part of his estate according to the laws in such cases made & provided as Witness my name & Seal this 23 day of December 1857 Amanda Chambers (seal) A.
