Page 5 13 January1832 WILL OF PERMELIA SANDFORD In the name of God amen. I Permelia Sandford of this county of Boone & State of Kentucky, being of sound mind & lawful age though feeble & afflicted in body and knowing the certainty of death and the uncertainty of time do commit my sole to the Fathers of Mercies through a divine redeemer - And as it has pleased me I am in his mercy to intrust to my care some of this worldly goods in my poor widowed state do ordain & make this my last will & testament. Item: It is my wish that all the surplus part of the crop that may be in had after leaving enough for the support of the family, (after the year) be sol for cash in hand or on a credit as my Executors hereafter named may think best and one fourth of the amount after sold to be paid to my son Templeman Sandford as a compensation for his services rendered to me. Item: It is my wish that my gray mare & bay filly & clock be sold by my Executors her in after named as they may thing best and the money arising from the sale together with the remaining three fourths of the money arising from the sale of the surplus crop and also the notes & money I may have on hand (after paying my just debts are paid) to be placed in the hand of my Executor herein after named in trust to be appropriated by them as hereinafter State of Kentucky to the support, clothing, and schooling of my four youngest children, Edward Sandford, Mary Sandford, Permelia Sandford and Sydney Sandford and in such manner as my Executors may think best. Item 4th: My beloved Brother Robert Kirtley and ??????, Willis Graves are hereby appointed my Executors to this my last will and testament ??????????? they would serve as such.
