LAND GRANT: LEE, Arthur - 1788 - Bourbon County, Kentucky From: Name Martina Carpenter Date: Fri, 25 Feb 2000 06:46:40 -0800 Virginia Grant Arthur Lee Bourbon County, KY Book 15, Page 66 FHC #0272817 Edmund Randolph Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia to all to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know ye that by virtue and in Consideration on two Land Office Treasury Warrants No 10638 & 10639 Issued the fifth day of January 1782 there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Arthur Lee a Certain tract or parcel of land Containing nine thousand nine Hundred thirty seven and a half acres by Survey bearing date the 30th day of October 1786 lying and being in the County of Bourbon about twenty five miles North West of the lower blue licks on the waters of Licking and bounded as followeth To wit Beginning at the forks of Willow Creek at ____ sugar trees thence South forty five degrees West crossing Licking at nine hundred and twenty poles the course continued in all nine Hundred and sixty poles to the Sugar trees and black ash, thence South forty five degrees East binding (?) on Licking at two hundred and twenty poles crossing a branch at four hundred & forty poles the course continued in all eight hundred twenty seven and a half poles to two white oaks and Sugar tree on a Ridge thence North forty five degrees East crossing Licking at four Hundred and sixty poles the course continued in all one thousand nine hundred and twenty poles to five (?) Sugar trees & ash thence North forty five degrees West eight Hundred twenty seven and a half poles to a white Oak, thence South forty five degrees West nine hundred and sixty Poles to the Beginning with its appurtenances to have and to hold said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said Arthur Lee and his Heirs forever In witness whereof the said Edmund Randolph Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the twenty eighth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred and eighty eight and of the Commonwealth the Thirteenth.
