Paris Man, 38, Burns to Death At His Home (this headline says that he is 38, yet the obit below states 33..) A Paris man was burned to death here early Saturday morning when he apparently was trapped in the kitchen of his burning home. The victim was identified as #Emmett Burns, 33, of Highland Lane. Fire Chief Walter Ishmell (Ishmael) said the fire evidently started in the front part of Burns house about 4:45 a.m. When the blaze was brought under control about one hour and 45 minutes later, Burns' body was found in the kitchen near a hot water heater, the fire chief said. The victim suffered third degree burns over his entire body. The house was destroyed. The victim's wife and three children were at the home of Burns' family when the fire occurred. Fire Chief Ishmell said the cause of the fire was not known. Burns is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Burns; a daughter, Brenda Faye Burns, at home; two sons, Danny Norwood Burns and Larry Owen Burns, at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Burns, Paris; four sisters, Mrs. Ray Tramby and Mrs. W.O. McDowell, Norwood, Ohio; Mrs. W. M. Burns, St. Louis, Mo., and Miss Pauline Burns, Paris, and three brothers, Thomas and Paul Burns, Norwood, Ohio, and Norman Burns, Sardis. Services were conducted at - ? - p.m. Monday at the Davis Funeral Home by the Rev. Donald Carroll. Burial was in the Paris cemetery. Bearers were Clyde, Kenneth, Ray and William Roe. W. O.
