Middletown Man Found By Roadside
Suspect Mason County Car Owner- Officers Working To Find Hit And Run Driver

   Ambrus Jones, 40, living near the Levy Pike near North Middletown was found 
early Monday morning on the Paris Pike about a quarer of a mile from 
Middletown along the road, his body was cold in death and doubtless having 
been there for several hours.
  From appearances at the scene of the accident, Coroner Roxie Davis and 
officers believe Jones was walking along the pike and that the car probably 
was passing another one and swerved over to the side of the pike striking the 
man hidden from view. Projecting rocks and earth were broken off as the side 
of the car went into the ditch and probably crushed Jones killing him 
instantly.
  His body was badly crushed, back broken, one leg broken,arms cut and bruised 
and mangled. Officers learned  that a Mason County car with several men as 
passengers stopped in Middletown Sunday night and made inquiries where whiskey 
could be purchased. A, employee at the store took down the licsence number and 
it is this car that is now being sought as the best possible clew to the 
source of the accident.
  Coroner Davis will hold his official inquest next Thursday.
  The deceased leaves a wife, two daughters Elizabeth & Louise and a son 
Ambrus, Jr., all youths; a mother Mrs. B.D. Jones, two sisters Iona & Nannie 
and three brothers, ferris , Lesllie & Dave Jones.

Additional Comments:
The man driving the car they were looking for was the one that his Ambrus Jones
Ambrus( Ambrose)Jones was the son of Basil Duke Jones of Middletown, Gramdson 
Of Stanfield Jones of Fleming Co
