LOCKWOOD TAKEN BY DEATH Funeral Service To Be Held Friday Mrs. Lucy Lockwood, 88, born March 18, 1843 died at the home of Mr. & Mrs. W. B. Powell, 1612 Hilton avenue this morning. The news of Mrs. Lockwood's death comes as a distinct shock to her host of friends throughout the Tri-State. Mrs. Lockwood was the widow of the late John Lockwood, owner of the famous farm at Lockwood. Mr. Lockwood died in March, 1898. The Lockwood farm, which is one of the old land marks of Boyd county, was sold by Mrs. Lockwood eleven years ago and since that time she has made her home with relatives in Ashland, Catlettsburg and Kenova. Her only son, Frank Lockwood, died in February, 1916. Mrs. Lockwood is survived by one sister, Mrs. Maria Wheeler of Paintsville, and several nieces and nephews, among them W. B. Powell, George and Wid Vanhorn, Dan Wheeler, Miss Lula Vanhorn and Mrs. Charles Williams, all of Ashland. Funeral services are to be held from the home of Mrs. Charles Williams, 1700 Lexington Ave., Friday afternoon at one o'clock, with the Rev. A. P. Keyser of Catlettsburg, and Rev. J. H. Dawson of this city, in charge. Burial is to be made in the family burial ground at Lockwood.
