George A. Perry, 83, native of this county who has been postmaster and merchant at Naples, Boyd County, for many years, died Tuesday at his home after an illness of 3 weeks. Funeral rites were conducted Thursday at the home at Naples with Rev. W. K. Wood, pastor of the Pollard Baptist Church, officiating and interment was made in Rose Hill Burial Park, Ashland. Born in this county, Mr. Berry had resided at Naples for 33 years and was a prominent citizen there. He was engaged in the mercantile business there with a son in law, Charles Kirk for 29 years and was postmaster. He also was a member of the United Baptist Church. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. America Hicks Berry, 4 sons, W. A. Berry, Willard, KY, Sam and Norman Berry, both member of the Ashland police department, Ossie Berry also of Ashland; 3 daughters, Mrs. Charles Kirk, Naples, KY, Mrs. Lewis Gayheart, Wheelwright, KY and Mrs. Delano Greene, Naples, KY; 2 brothers, John M. Berry, Ashland and Mont Berry, Greenup County, KY; 3 sisters, Mrs. Charles West and Mrs. Lewis Cordell, Toledo, OH and Mrs. Fred Newhouse, McMillen, MI.
