After my funeral expenses and just and honest debts are paid I will and bequeath to my five eldest children, William Dixon, Jacob Dixon, John Dixon and Griffin Dixon and my daughter Elizabeth McIntire, to each of them to have one dollar each, the balance of my estate, both personal and real, I will and bequeath to my son, Shepard Dixon, reserved one fourth of an acre for the family burial ground for the family grave yard. With this further understanding, a note I had against Shepard Woodford for a piece of land which I authorize my son Shepard Dixon to collect and the expense is paid the proceeds to be equal between my children. In witness whereof we set our hand seal this 16 day of Oct 1870. Jane Dixon (X her mark) Attest: J. A. Howel A.W. Poage State of Kentucky, Boyd County I, James W Mullan, Clerk of the County, County of the County aforesaid, do certify that the foregoing instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Jane Dixon deceased was on the 28th day of Nov 1870 produced in Open Court and proven by the oaths of J A Howel and A W Howell subscribing witnesses thereto, and the same was allowed and established as the Last Will and Testament of the said Jane Dixon deceased and was ordered to be recorded, Whereupon the same together with this Certificate hath been recorded in my office.
