Betty Guthrie - John McGinnis October 3 1878 Boyle County KyArchives Deed Written: October 3 1878 Recorded: October 7 1878 Deed Book 14, page 607 For and in consideration of one hundred and sixty dollars in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, we, John McGinnis and Lotty McGinnis his wife of the county of Boone, and state of Indiana have this day sold transfered aliened and conveyed to Betty Guthrie of Boyle County state of Kentucky, to have, to hold and enjoy during her natural life and at her death to James Parks and George Parks of the county and state aforesaid them their heirs and assigns to have and to hold forever, the following peice [sic] of land, situated on the East side of Parksville, on the Knob Lick and Parksville County road, Beginning at a point in the centre of the Knob Lick and Parksville County road in J. R. Whites line crossing said road, thence S86E 17-08/100 poles to another point in the centre of said road, thence N3-1/2E 61-16/100 poles with the line of Green Bruce (which is the hill of land that was allotted to one of the heirs of Washington McGinnis) to an Elm bush in the dower line thence the dower line N96W 19-84/100 poles to a corner in J. R. White's line, thence with said Whites line S5-1/2E 60.00. poles to the beginning, containing six acres, three Roods and nine square poles, this being land that was allotted to me as one of the heirs of Washington McGinnis. Now we bind ourselves our heirs and legal representatives to warrant and defend the title to the aforesaid land in favor of the said Betty Guthrie James Parks and George Parks against the claim or claims of all & every person or persons whomsoever.
