McGinnis - Et al McGinnis May 10 1848 Boyle County KyArchives Deed Written: May 10 1848 Recorded: May 25 1849 Deed Book 4, page 117 This Indenture witnesseth that William McGinnis Hezekiah McGinnis Samuel McGinnis Thomas McGinnis Dorsey McGinnis Jefferson McGinnis Henry Minor & Lydia his wife late McGinnis John Walters & Margaret Walters his wife late McGinnis John Broyles and Elizabeth his wife late McGinnis & Jonathan Thomas & Lucinda his wife late McGinnis parties of the first part heirs & children of John McGinnis Dec'd have for & in consideraton of Five hundred Dollars to them in hand paid by George W. McGinnis party of the second part bargained & sold and hereby bargain & sell alien & convey to him sd. George W. McGinnis the whole interest which we have in and to the tract of land lying in that part of Boyle County taken from Mercer on which sd. John McGinnis dec'd lived & died on the head waters of Quirks Run and more particularly described in the deed of conveyance from William Webster to said John deed dated 16 August 1805 and recorded in the Lincoln County Clerks Office to which for certainty reference is here made, also the forty acres purchased from the Henderson Estate connected with and adjoining the first named tract. To Have and To Hold the same and all the interest which we have in & to the same being ten twelfths as heirs sd. John & ten eleventh's of a twelfth as heirs of Nancy Hoskins who was a heir of sd. John the whole however subject to the life estate of our mother McGinnis she having during her life title to the same to the said G. W. McGinnis & his heirs forever and the interest hereby sold & conveyed we will forever warrant & defend to the said George W. McGinnis & his heirs forever against all claims whatever. Caldwell two of the Commonwealth Justices of the Peace for said County do certify that Elizabeth Broyles the wife of the within named John Broyles and Lucinda Thomas the wife of the within named Jonathan Thomas this day personally appeared before us who being examined privily and apart from their husbands as the law directs voluntarily with her own free well & consent relinquished her right of inheritance to the premises conveyed by this deed and the same is certified, to the Clerk of the Boyle County Court of Boyle for record, where the premises lie. McGinnis was on 12th day of May 1849 produced to me in my office by John Walter & Margaret his wife and ack'd by John Walter to be his act & deed & the said Margaret being examined by me privily and apart from her said husband declared that she did freely & willingly seal & deliver said writting and wishes not to retract it & acknowledged said writting again shown & explained to her to be her act and deed & consenteth that the same be recorded, & afterwards on this day again produced & filed for record.
