McGinnis - Benjamin Crow July 12 1864 Boyle County KyArchives Deed Written: July 12 1864 Recorded: April 22 1865 Deed Book 9, page 158 This Indenture, Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the Sum of Six Hundred and twenty five dollars, one half cash in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the balance Secured by note due January 1st 1865, and dated July 12th 1864, We Benjamin Crow and Eliza Crow, his wife, of Boyle County, State of Kentucky, have bargained and Sold and do hereby alien and convey to Martha E. McGinnis of the County and State aforesaid, the following described property (to wit) one house and lot Situated and being in the County and State aforesaid and in the town of Perryville, on the East side of Chaplin and Known in the plot of Said town as lot No. [blank] and adjoining the lot on which Mrs. Ellen Green lives, and bounded as follows, Beginning at the Street which runs North and South, at the North west corner of Said lot, running East with the Street which runs from the foot bridge to Nelson Wingates, to the line of fence between Said lot and the lot of G. W. Calvert, South with Said fence to the Said lot of Said Mrs. Green, thence West with dividing fence of Mrs. Green and Said lot to the Street, thence North with the Street to the beginning, containing about one half acre be the Same more or less, together with all its appurtenances and improvements, to have and to hold to the Martha E. McGinnis and her heirs &c forever, and we Said Benjamin Crow and Eliza Crow his wife do hereby covenant and agree with Said Martha E. McGinnis for ourselves, our heirs &c, that we will forever warrant and defend to her and to her heirs &c the title to Said land and appurtenances against all claims whatever, and a lien is hereby retained upon Said property for the payment of the balance of the purchase money. Nichols Clerk of the Boyle County Court do certify, that the foregoing Deed was, on the 12th day of July 1864 acknowledged by Benj. Crow and Eliza Crow his wife in due form of law, and upon the Same is the required U. S. Revenue Stamp, and on this day the Said Deed was filed in my office for record.
