Born in Tupelo, Miss., he was a son of Phil and Sue Harrison Ayers of Normandy. He was a captain in the Kentucky National Guard, a farmer and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Shelbyville, Tenn. Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Holden Ayers of Christiana; a son, Cole Ayers of Danville; a daughter, Molly Ayers of Danville; and two brothers, Sam Ayers of Christiana, and Van Ayers of Cape Girardeau, Mo. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Funeral Home by the Rev. Leslie Glover. Burial with military rites will be at Three Forks Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. tonight.
